Fred Lowry Jr

President

Fred Jr. is second generation in the insurance industry and has been a part of Lowry & Associates since 1989. When he graduated from BYU with a degree in Communications and English with the intent to attend law school, an opportunity to work with Fred Sr. in the early stages of Lowry & Associates became available, and he has never looked back. Todd R. Brown

Vice President of Premium Audit – Remote Audits

Todd oversees all remote operations of voluntary, phone, and virtual audits—including the Customer Service Center located in Wellsville, UT, and the Phone Audit Center in Millville, UT. After graduating from Utah State University in 1997, he began to work at LAI doing underwriting inspections and physical audits. In January of 2007, he was promoted to Director of Learning and Development and Manager of Remote Auditing, where he has played a vital role. Todd also manages the Carrier Specialist team and fosters customer relations. Todd and his wife, Heather, have three daughters and one son. Their family enjoys rodeo events, camping, hiking, and hunting in the beautiful mountains of Utah.

Troy Welch

Vice President of Premium Audit – Field Operations

Troy oversees the field operations for physical audits in CA, NV, AZ, and NM. Troy attended Christ for the National Institute and earned a degree in Biblical Studies and Ministry. Troy’s auditing career began in 2000 as a field auditor for another auditing company and moved to management in 2004. Troy joined Lowry & Associates in 2008 as a manager for field operations in Southern CA. His expertise and skills were vital when California field operations underwent the change from independent contract auditors to employee auditors in 2019. Troy and his wife, Chris, have six children and five grandchildren. They love living on the edge of a National Forest in Arizona, while enjoying wildlife, hiking, fishing, and the Arizona Cardinals.

Paul A. Kotter

Vice President of Premium Audit – Field Operations

Paul oversees field operations for physical audits in CO, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT, WA, and WY territories. Paul graduated from the University of Utah and went on to obtain an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He began working at LAI in 2001 as a premium auditor doing physical audits and surveys. Paul moved to an administrative role in 2005, assisting with the Draper, UT office operations and training and supporting field auditors. Paul has been instrumental in implementing online audit software systems and managing the Area Inventory Specialist team. Paul and his wife, Jen, have two daughters and one son. The Kotter family enjoys golfing, camping, skiing, fishing, and just being outdoors.

Cameron Richards

Vice President – Survey Division

Cameron oversees the entire department for loss control surveys and inspections, for AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA, and WY. Cameron graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Economics and Sociology and has increased the Lowry & Associates survey division by more than 100% since joining the management team in 2015. He has over 16 years of experience in loss control, including Residence Quality Control and Field Inspections. Cameron and his wife, Nicoleen, reside in Texas with their son and daughter. They enjoy spending time at water parks, amusement parks, the beach, and National Parks. They also enjoy hiking in Texas but agree that nothing compares to the mountain trails of Utah.

Dan Swensen

Director of Learning and Development

Dan oversees the Field Support Mentoring team, which is responsible for the general education, continuing education, training, mentoring, and support of the entire auditing department and our LAI team. After graduating from the University of Utah in Communications, Dan began working with LAI as a field auditor in 2006. In 2017, he moved into a field mentor position and then a year later was appointed to Director of Learning and Development. Dan has been the driving force behind LAI’s E-Learning and onboarding platform, revolutionizing auditor development and the onboarding process. He also implemented a new field support and mentoring program, including the “Ride Along” program for field auditors. Dan and his wife, Amy, have two daughters and enjoy spending time as a family, playing sports, and being outdoors.

Todd Walden

Director of Quality Assurance

Todd oversees the Quality Review Team that reviews and provides quality assurance for all phone, virtual, and physical audits, and test audits. Todd began working with LAI in 2007 as a phone auditor while studying at Utah State University. Within a year, he was performing physical audits in UT, AZ, CA, ID, and NV. After graduating with a degree in Political Science and minor in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Todd moved to Arizona in 2009 to maintain the AZ and CA physical audit areas, as well as train and mentor new auditors. Todd has evolved from being a trainer to field support mentor to manager of Quality Assurance, while revolutionizing LAI’s quality review process along the way. Todd and his wife, Tanya, have two girls and two boys. They enjoy everything outdoors from competitive soccer, hiking, biking, and backpacking to landscaping, home improvements, and building furniture.

Lori Westwood

Human Resources Director

Lori manages the HR department for LAI employees and negotiates contracts for remote contract labor auditors. Lori studied at the University of Utah and has received her PHR and SHRM-CP certificates. Lori brings a refined and calming presence to the dynamic management team. She loves spending time with her nine grandchildren and being outdoors hiking, paddle boarding, ziplining, and barbecuing.
